Please read all statements below carefully
“User” refers to the University of Portland student entering into this agreement by signing below. By signing, the user acknowledges they have read and understood all terms and voluntarily agree to be bound by them
General Terms
- The user affirms that all information provided is accurate. Providing false or inaccurate information may result in the revocation of rental privileges.
- Failure to comply with this agreement may result in applicable fees, rental restrictions, or administrative holds on the user’s University of Portland student account
Security Deposit
- The refundable security deposit of $15 is required at the time of rental for each appliance.
- The full security deposit will be refunded upon timely return of the appliance in acceptable condition.
- Appliances not returned by the Monday after Spring Semester Finals Week or other due date as set by MoveUP staff will be considered lost, and the user will be charged the full replacement cost. The deposit will be applied against the replacement cost and the user will be responsible for any remaining balance.
- Any cleaning, repair, or replacement fees may be deducted from the deposit. If such fees exceed the deposit, the user is responsible for the remaining balance.
- Any applicable deductions from the deposit will be communicated to the renter in writing, with documentation provided upon request.
- Deposit refunds will be processed within 2 business weeks after inspection and return.
The deposit will not be refunded under the following conditions:
- The appliance is returned damaged beyond normal wear and tear.
- The appliance is returned unclean or in an unsanitary condition (e.g., with food residue, stains, or moisture).
- The appliance is not returned by the agreed-upon return date.
Late Appliance Policies
- A one-business day grace period is allowed after the due date. After this, a $5 per day late fee will apply.
- Appliances not returned by the Monday following Spring Semester Finals Week will be considered lost unless other arrangements have been made in advance with MoveUP staff for an alternative due date. In such cases, the user agrees to pay the full replacement cost, as determined by MoveUP staff.
Cleaning, Repair, and Replacement Policies
- The appliance must be returned in the same condition it was rented-clean and dry. A cleaning fee will be charged for items returned dirty or wet.
- If the appliance is damaged during the rental period, the user agrees to pay a reasonable repair fee as assessed by MoveUP staff. Normal wear and tear may exempt the user from such fees.
- If the appliance is lost, stolen, or broken beyond repair, the user agrees to pay the full replacement cost, as determined by MoveUP staff.
